Simona Blat

is a Soviet-American writer, editor, educator, and bookseller. She was born in Riga, Latvia and emigrated to Brooklyn, NY in 1990.

She owns and operates Black Spring Books, an independent used bookstore and literary social club in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. 

She is the co-founder and creative director of the Brazenhead Review.

She holds an MFA in Poetry from Columbia University and served as poetry editor and criticism column editor of Epiphany Magazine from 2020 until 2023. 

She teaches writing at New York University and The New School. 

She published this book.
